Unfortunately I'd missed Noush Skaugen but I was looking forward to seeing Jo'Burgs latest pop rock superstars: The Parlotones, the band set to open this years World Cup in South Africa and also produce their own brand of wine! (http://theparlotoneswine.com/ - not quite as awesome as Maynard James Keenan producing his own brand of wine: http://laist.com/2008/09/16/maynard_keenans_latest_release_wine_1.php ...but still fairly awesome)
Sheffields, The Little Million (second support act) gave a cracking performance with some great little interludes and a rosta of very loud, well formed and catchy tunes, full of promise and really quite a nice bunch of lads to boot (we ended up hanging out with them at the afterparty).
However, I really can't say I was particularly a fan of the main act. Their songs sound well written and catchy, the band themselves are tight but all in all, just not enough to really get me going... although I'm sure it didn't bother them, there were hundreds of South Africans in there going absolutely mental.
Final thoughts: Check out the Little Million if you get the chance and if you like The sound of U2 Vs The Killers, check out The Parlotones. - That sounds pretty harsh, but really, it's just not my thing.
