Southampton Guildhall is completely sold out with about 2000 rowdy Kasabian fans. A slight change of scenery from the 80,000 they played in front of at Glastonbury last Saturday...The Hours are the main support band for the gig, and after support slots with the likes of Coldplay and U2, I was looking forward to their set. At 8.15, the band took to the stage, and encapsulated the crowd instantly; and it was easy to see why their piano-led indie rock was chosen to warm up the crowd for the mighty band that was to follow them. All of their songs had different tones, and were all appealing to the ear in their own right; something which is quite impressive to have. After the forty minute set, the crowd's anticipation for Kasabian increased even more.

At precisely 9.15, the lights went down, and the crowd erupted, and the band took to the stage, with lead singer Tom Meighan strutting onto stage last. Wearing a jacket with a strawberry on, Tom instantly greeted the crowd, and the band launched straight into new album opener 'Underdog', and the crowd went mental. After this, it was just one massive free-for-all in the crowd, and every song played was brilliant. Highlights for me would be 'Where Did All The Love Go', 'Fire', 'The Doberman', 'Club Foot', and of course the mighty 'LSF'. 10 minutes after the gig, while the crowd of 2,000 were leaving the venue, the signature chant from 'LSF' was recreated, uniting the crowd one final time. Kasabian have always been one of my favourite live acts to see, and this has just made me enjoy them live even more.

The full setlist: Underdog, Shoot The Runner, Cutt Off, Processed Beats, Empire, Where Did All The Love Go, Swarfiga, Thick As Thieves, Take Aim, Fire, Fast Fuse, The Doberman, Club Foot --- Vlad The Impaler, Stuntman, You Got The Love LSF
