What a varied line up! It all felt like a mini festival, starting so early, getting to see quite a few different groups... and of course getting absolutely soaked!
Missed the White Lies too, but we decided to chill a bit and watch Girls Aloud from the seating near the pitch. I liked the idea that you could stand or sit in the unreserved seating depending on if you were up for a bit of a mosh!
Girls Aloud were surprisingly better than I thought. It didn't look like they were lip-synching and some seemed to actually have a voice!
Jaz Z - not something I would normally go and see, but at this point we were in the middle of the crowd, and got completely caught up in the atmosphere. He got the whole place shaking.
Coldplay were awesome. I've been wanting to see them for ages, particularly after getting their DVD of their live performances in Sydney in 2003. It really is great when 70K people are singing at the top of their voices most of the time! Acoustics were a tad strange in the middle as you can hear the sound bouncing back behind you, but it wasn't too bad.
The acoustic version of Billy Jean and the mobile phone mexican wave were v cool!
A really great afternoon and evening out. Got absolutely soaked at the early stage of Coldplay's set, but it was rather tropical, and by the end, we started to dry out! It was kind of liberating in that rain getting drenched rocking to some fantastic music.
Thanks Coldplay :)
