Album Review - Slash - Apocalyptic Love (Roadrunner)

by GRAHAM CLARK 6. June 2012 19:33
Whilst on his first solo album Slash had different vocalists on the tracks, on his second solo album Slash has decided to keep to one vocalist, Miles Kennedy from Alterbridge and it’s a wise choice as his vocals suit the tracks. Apocalyptic Love, the album’s title track starts off with a funk guitar riff and breaks into a song that the new line up of Guns N Roses probably wish that they have written. Slash’s guitar work is prominent throughout the album without it taking over any of the tracks. The first single off the album, You’re A Liar sounds already like a classic rock track. One Last Thrill and Shots Fired are also very close to vintage Guns N Roses. The quality never fades on the album and it really should be heard by every rock fan, not just his core fan base. Influences range from funk to blues to some prime time boogie. Definitely worth a listen.
