Josh Osho - o2 Academy Leeds. Thursday 5 April 2012

New artist Josh Osho is a name to watch out for in 2012. Vocally he sounds like a cross between John Legend and Seal. This singer/songwriter has some cracking tracks up his sleeve. It was good to hear him tell the story behind each track before he sang the song. Birthday for instance is about people intimidated by change, S.O.S., about feeling lonely and isolated. He seemed genuinely taken aback by the warm reception he received from the Leeds crowd. Without the aid of his acoustic guitar on some of the songs, it allowed him to move around the stage more freely and made his performance more involved. His forthcoming single, Redemption Days featuring Ghostface Killah should be the first step to establishing this promising new artist. The gig goer next to me summed up Josh perfectly when she tweeted to her friend, “you have just missed a fit looking guy with a beautiful voice”. Praise indeed.
