Today marks the release of the new single from The Big Pink, 'Tonight'. A brand new recording of a track that appears in a different form on their debut album, A Brief History Of Love, it’s available now on both 7" and download. It comes backed by 'Sweet Dreams', an unlikely Beyonce cover that has become a staple in their live set, and the 7” is packed in a poster sleeve as designed by Eddie Quarmby.
The band have finally returned from a successful tour of the States, which culminated in six weeks hard touring and them closing off proceedings at Coachella Festival. They’re due on the road next when they tour the UK in May for their first headline tour of the year…
In addition, they’ve been added in recent weeks to various festival bills for later this summer that include Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Isle of Wight, Wireless, T In The Park and The Great Escape.
Today also sees The Big Pink launch For No One, a new sessions site out of Chicago, which has them performing a ten-minute version of ‘Crystal Visions’ for their inaugural session.
Finally, in case you missed it, demo track ‘With You’ recently appeared on the 4AD 12” compilation, Fragments From A Work In Progress, released on Record Store Day and also features demo and exclusive material from label-mates Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Blonde Redhead, Gang Gang Dance and Tune-Yards.
