REVIEW: “AC/DC” @ Rochester Castle, Kent – 16th April 2010

Rumours spread like wild fire in the sleepy towns of Medway, Kent, and soon excitement was buzzing at the thought of AC/DC coming to Rochester Castle.
The event was kept rather quiet, avoiding the online world, and possibly for a good reason…
Some fans turned up eager to see the legends live, with their rock-steady rhythm and guitar riffs that make grown men scream like girls. These fans probably left with a somewhat bitter taste in their mouths. The small print read that the band wouldn’t actually be making an appearance.
Instead people were witnesses to a ground breaking architectural projection mapping project in the grounds of the second oldest Cathedral in England.
Images of the band and other effects illuminated the castle in a 3D animation slideshow, which whilst cannot compete with the band, was in itself amazing. Matt Bellamy has some catching up to do.
The evening was filmed for an AC/DC video, in conjunction with Iron Man 2 (out in cinemas on 30th April) with an accompanying soundtrack by the band being released on 19th April by Sony Music.
The video is due to be released on Youtube on Wednesday. For now you can watch the video below… Although it doesn’t quite do it justice.

AC/DC are playing Download Festival this year.
