Dear Superstar were the second band on stage, firstly we had The Crave, then Dear Superstar followed by Heavens Basement. It was the last gig of the tour, and spirits were running high, as were the onstage pranks!
Dear Superstar were on stage for best part of 45 minutes. They were well received by the crown, and even had a small mosh pit on the go during one of their songs. There was a small amount of crowd/band interaction which increased as the show went on, and went down well with the crowd. The front man, Micky, told us a sorty about his girlfriend and the drummer.... That brought some laughter from the crowd. They then played the track that was a result of the said story.
One of the closing songs was 'Lola' by The Kinks. Naturally it has been rocked up an awful lot. Micky was asking the crowd to join in, and to sing along. However, the majority of the crowd were/are too young to know the track. However, those who did know it did their best. Saying that, it was certinly an original cover version...
For the last track they were joined on stage by The Crave. They looked to be having fun, it was their last night, and they wanted to go out with a bang. They certinly did that. A big stage prescence and a good set of tracks. Shame there was no introduction to the songs, as a new fan would want to know in order to be able to buy tracks.
Overall a fun night out, and lots of onstage pranks played on the other bands playing this evening. Just a shame I did not get the interview.
