Hayseed Dixie-how to describe them...well. Their first album was called 'A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC. Does that make things slightly clearer?

Before you automatically reject them as just another cover band, take a minute to check out their Myspace page.

These guys are a truly unique blend of bluegrass and rock, and I for one think they are just wonderful! There is something about hearing such classics as Alice Cooper's 'Poison' and the Rolling Stones 'Paint it Black' performed with banjos that just warms the soul!

The release of their latest album- "Killer Grass", coincides (handily) with an extensive UK tour during February, March and May next year. (Called, believe it or not, "Killer Grass").

From all reports these are a wonderful band to see live and really, what more could you want from an evening than a bluegrass band playing classic rock hits? I know I'm also hugely looking forward to hearing the band play some of their own material from the latest album.

I know that many people don't consider Hayseed Dixie as a 'rock band', but I'm inclined to disagree. They may be different from what most people think of when they think of rock music, but their sheer dedication to performing such fantastic tunes with such a wonderful twist makes them rock n roll in my humble opinion.

Whatever your opinion of their genre, they certainly aren't to be missed when they tour. Put aside any scepticism, crack out the cowboy hats and get ready for some country dancing, rock style...
