Those who've read my first blog on GigJunkie will know that I have recently fallen in love with the musical love-child of Scott McEwan and Glockenshiels. That child's name is The Candle Thieves.

I also mentioned that they have an EP coming out this September [14th] through Alcopop Records, fittingly named 'The Sunshine EP'. I say fittingly because I see The Candle Thieves as a box of eternal sunshine waiting for each listener to open the lid and get hooked on the feel-good tunes that are concealed within. And I am most definitely hooked.

I am pleased to say that I can reveal the track list of the summer record everyone should own (that's right – summer's not over yet!), which goes as follows;

'The Sunshine EP'

 - 'The Sunshine Song'
 - 'My Love Will Clap Its Hands For You'

 - 'The State That I'm In'

 - 'Lonely, Lonely, Lonely'

If you can't wait until the 14th to get your hands on this nugget of joy, head over to their MySpace, where they have a video posted for 'The Sunshine Song'. The video itself is enough to make you smile, with animations of rainbows, flowers and birds (no, really!). The audio is a gift to the ears, consisting of casio-led jaunty riffs, catchy choruses and perfect harmonies.

Maybe you're like me, maybe this still isn't enough to quench your Candle Thieves thirst. If this is the case, I recommend finding your way to a Candle Thieves gig, where they'll win you over with charm, suits and a box of toy instruments.

The Candle Thieves are currently on a tour they call 'Live In Your Garden' where they have requested fans nominate their gardens to play a show – a followup to their previous 'Live In Your Living Room' tour.

Happy listening!
