As a twenty-first century woman, there are a number of things that make me ecstatically happy, and I think if somebody asked me to pick just two, they would be music and food. So when I heard about Harvest At Jimmy’s, a unique end of summer festival taking place on a farm in Ipswich, suffice to say I was over the moon.
The two-day festival, happening on September 12th and 13th is set to be absolutely amazing. If I’m honest, I’d be in attendance for the music alone: this year’s line up includes Athlete, KT Tunstall, Badly Drawn Boy, Jose Gonzalez, Seth Lakeman and an utterly fantastic but underexposed band from Norwich called The Great Shakes. The music in itself sounds an absolutely mouth-watering experience. And then there’s the food…
Jimmy Doherty, of BBC 2’s Jimmy’s Farm fame, will by joined on his farm by James Martin, Gina D’Acampo, Gennaro Contaldo, James Wong and Austin Reed among others, where they will guide the audience through a range of cooking master classes. Alongside this, Jamie’s Oliver Fifteen Restaurant will be taking over a barn for the duration of the festival, offering an interactive cooking experience for all!
I absolutely cannot wait for this festival – unique, fun and incredibly creative, I guarantee you it’s one you won’t want to miss. And did I mention you don’t even have to take the Friday off work? It’s heaven in festival form and I am positively excited.
GigJunkie will be there for the festival’s entirety, gorging ourselves on yummy treats and audio delicacies. Check out the official Harvest At Jimmy’s website www.harvestatjimmys.com for more info about the artists, chefs and facilities.
Like what you hear? We best be seeing you at Jimmy's then!
